SENG Model Parent Group Discussions are HERE!
You are invited to participate in a discussion related to the complexities of parenting gifted children to include such topics as:
???? motivation
???? discipline
???? stress management
???? peer relations
???? sibling rivalry
???? tradition breaking
This opportunity is an important part of a two-day workshop in which parents and professionals in your area are being trained to conduct guided discussion groups based on the SENG (Supporting Emotional Needs of Gifted) model. The emphasis of these groups is on positive aspects of parenting, avoiding power struggles, and helping gifted children learn appropriate life skills while enhancing the parent/child relationship and parent self-esteem.
Sixty parents are needed for parent discussion groups so that those being trained as facilitators can get some first hand experience while the training is fresh and experts are still available for supervision and feedback. Come and meet other parents of gifted children interested in learning and sharing resources for providing for the social and emotional needs of their gifted children. Topics to be covered will include all aspects of raising gifted children from preschool age through high school. This group will follow the SENG Model of Gifted Parent Groups to facilitate sharing and discussion. This offer is open to the first 60 C-FB ISD parents who register on or Before December 8th. Thereafter, this opportunity will be publicized to the entire North Texas area.
