Arts & Crafts
Dallas Museum of Art’s Summer Art Camps for Kids, 214-922-1822, www.dallasmuseumofart.org.
One-week sessions for ages 4-18. Camps include a variety of media and themes, and participants are divided by age group. M-F, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Summer camps include art, acting, fashion design, and movie-making among others.
Michael’s Kids Summer Crafts Camp, 972-409-1574, www.michaels.com.
At participating Michaels locations in the Dallas area. Children ages 9-12 can participate in the “Excellent Craft Adventure” program.
Camp ASIA at the Crow Collection of Asian Art, www.crowcollection.org, 2010 Flora Street, Dallas.
Participants ages 3-5 will have an opportunity to explore Asian works of art, engage in hands-on activities and learn about painting, sculpting and storytelling. Campers ages 6-9 will travel the globe, through adventures in music, paintings, sculpture, folk tales, and dance from various countries.

Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas Summer Singing Camp, www.thechildrenschorus.com.
Activities include singing, playing hand bells and giving a concert for family and friends. One week session for children entering grades 4-8, M-F, morning or afternoon.
Kindermusik Adventures Camps, www.soundsteps.com.
Singing, dancing, instruments, and stories for infants – 7 year-olds accompanied by parent or caregiver meeting once a week for 5 weeks, or daily for one week. Also, one- week introduction to piano and guitar camps for children ages 6 and up, morning or evenings.

Select opportunities for string bass and flute, as well as jazz (combo and vocals), percussion, choir, harp and piano. Special leadership training available for high school drum majors.

Students learn from high quality instructional staff from around the nation. Band, choir, orchestra, and jazz students grow musically and personally while enjoying all the fun and excitement of summer camp.

Performing Arts

Students ages 7 – adult learn to integrate singing, dancing and acting into musical theater performances at Majestic Theatre in downtown Dallas during two-week workshop.
ARTSNET Summer Arts College, www.artsnetc.org (select “Events” from homepage).
Summer Arts College is an opportunity for children ages 6-15 to be a part of an imaginative and fun week long cultural experience. During each session, professional artists and teachers give students a chance to participate in visual arts, drama, music, and dance. At the end of each session, on Friday afternoon, students perform for parents and family.

A theatre by youth for youth, CATS offers classes for children ages 4-18 in all aspects of theatre education. Classes include Creative Drama, Acting, Musical Theatre, Private Voice, Technical Theatre, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and more.

One-week sessions for ages 8 – 16, M-F, 9 am – 4 pm. Campers will learn acting skills, movement and theater techniques while stretching their imaginations. All camps will be at the Garland Civic Theatre (108 North Sixth Street) on the square in downtown Garland.

Five-week session for ages 6-16 explores all aspects of theater, and closes with a full production for family and friends. Classes taught in English and Spanish. Weekdays, 9 – noon.
